I love Whole Foods. It’s bad (or should I say pricey), I know. But I can’t help it. I particularly like strolling through the aisles and checking out random new foods. One I came across recently was the Epic Bar. I had heard about them and was curious enough to give them a try. I often need snacks at work or while on the go, so bars can come in handy. This seemed like a nice change of pace from my go-to Lara or Kind bars.
I decided to try the Beef and Turkey, but they also have Bison (bacon+cranberry) and Lamb (currant+mint) varieties. They are all gluten-free, 100% grass fed and have no added sugar, plus contain a lot of essential nutrients.
The Beef version was habanero+cherry and for 190 calories had 11g fat, 2g fiber, 9g sugar and 13g protein…not bad! It kind of tasted like jerky, but not as tough.
The Turkey version was my favorite of the two. It was almond+cranberry and had 150 calories, 6g fat, 2g fiber, 6g sugar and 14g of protein…even better!
Definitely worth trying if you happen to come across them at the store!
