The ultimate girls weekend in Charleston

As you have read up til now, Charleston can be a pretty sweet spot for a girls weekend. I am so blessed to have a some amazing childhood friends who all get together each year for a special trip. The first two years were cabin locales in Madeline Island and the Tennessee mountains. This is year three (or our reunions). And day three (of Charleston). Also celebrating all of our 30th birthdays. So basically it keeps getting better.

Sunday brunch: Stella’s, a super cute and delicious Greek cafe. With a super cute and delicious waiter (just kidding, sort of). Everyone’s dish was great. I got the vegetarian poached eggs, which actually came with a decent amount of vegetables 🙂

Walk the beautiful side streets of Charleston, gazing at every pastel painted and porched home. King street (the main shopping street) is also closed to traffic on the second Sunday from 1-5pm. If it were Saturday, there’s the farmers market, which I always love checking out. Today we made our way to a nice shady bench at Battery park.

Sweet snack: Check out Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Pâtissier on Society Street. It was nicely located across the street from our Airbnb (maybe or not the reason why I picked this place ha). They have lots of chocolate and pastries, as you might imagine. Including gluten-free macaroons, flourless chocolate cake, cookies and more.

Dinner excursion: The Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island. Where pizza and pasta (homemade as well as gluten-free available) meet seafood and upscale beach cottage. Excellent choice. Take an after-dinner walk along the beach, a couple blocks away. It’s super beautiful with sand dunes, a lighthouse, and tonight a full moon and lightning off in the distance. Follow with gelato at the shop underneath The Obstinate Daughter (Beardcat’s Sweet Shop). If you ask nice enough, they may combine three flavors instead of only two in your small cup 🙂 I got the chocolate sorbet (dairy free), espresso (I love coffee ice cream so much) and hazelnut (because #nutella). Their signature flavor, olive oil & sea salt was also amazing. So I asked for sea salt on my ice cream too.

So. Much. Goodness.

Yours jenuinely, xoxo
